Seedance 2.5 Pricing: What It Costs in 2026
The full credit math: cost per clip at every duration and resolution, how many clips each plan buys, and the Starter limit nobody mentions before you subscribe.

The Seedance 2.5 price question has a clean answer and a messy one. The clean answer is a rate: 23 credits per second at 480p, 48 credits per second at 720p, where one credit equals one cent of generation cost. The messy answer is the one you actually need, which is how many finished ads that buys you in a month, and whether the plan you were about to pick can even render the clip length you have in mind. This post does the second one, with the tables worked out.
Everything below is the live rate in the VIDEO AI ME editor, where Seedance 2.5 runs in English on a normal subscription rather than through ByteDance Seed's launch surfaces or the API announced through BytePlus ModelArk.

How the Seedance 2.5 price is calculated
Three inputs, and only two of them cost you anything.
Duration. The editor offers 4, 8, 12, 15, 20, 25 and 30 seconds. You pay per second of output.
Resolution. 480p or 720p. This is the big multiplier: 720p is a little more than twice the rate of 480p.
Everything else is free. Audio is always generated and always included: sound effects, ambient sound and lip synced speech. There is no audio toggle and no audio surcharge. Aspect ratio does not change the price. Reference to video, where you attach two to four images and bind them in the prompt with @Image1 and @Image2 tags, costs exactly the same per second as text to video and image to video. So does image to video with an optional end frame.
| Resolution | Credits per second | Generation cost per second |
|---|---|---|
| 480p | 23 | about $0.23 |
| 720p | 48 | about $0.48 |
That is the whole formula: seconds multiplied by the rate for your resolution. No per generation fee, no charge for retries beyond the seconds you generate.
Seedance 2.5 price per clip at every duration
Here is every duration in the picker, costed both ways.
| Duration | 480p credits | 480p value | 720p credits | 720p value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 seconds | 92 | about $0.92 | 192 | about $1.92 |
| 8 seconds | 184 | about $1.84 | 384 | about $3.84 |
| 12 seconds | 276 | about $2.76 | 576 | about $5.76 |
| 15 seconds | 345 | about $3.45 | 720 | about $7.20 |
| 20 seconds | 460 | about $4.60 | 960 | about $9.60 |
| 25 seconds | 575 | about $5.75 | 1,200 | about $12.00 |
| 30 seconds | 690 | about $6.90 | 1,440 | about $14.40 |
Two things to take from this table.
First, the 480p column is your testing budget and the 720p column is your production budget. An eight second concept test costs 184 credits. Rendering the same idea at 720p once you have settled the writing costs 384. Iterating at 720p is the single most common way people burn a month of credit on drafts.
Second, thirty seconds at 720p is 1,440 credits, and that number has a consequence for plan choice that we will get to in a moment.
What each plan buys in Seedance 2.5 clips
Plans are monthly credit allowances that you can spend across any model in the editor.
| Plan | Price | Monthly credits | Seedance 2.5 at 720p | Seedance 2.5 at 480p |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29/mo | 1,400 | about 29 seconds | about 60 seconds |
| Pro | $99/mo | 5,600 | about 116 seconds | about 243 seconds |
| Premium | $199/mo | 12,000 | about 250 seconds | about 521 seconds |
Seconds are abstract, so here is the same thing in finished clips.
| Clip you want | Cost | Starter (1,400) | Pro (5,600) | Premium (12,000) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8s at 480p | 184 | 7 clips | 30 clips | 65 clips |
| 8s at 720p | 384 | 3 clips | 14 clips | 31 clips |
| 15s at 480p | 345 | 4 clips | 16 clips | 34 clips |
| 15s at 720p | 720 | 1 clip | 7 clips | 16 clips |
| 30s at 480p | 690 | 2 clips | 8 clips | 17 clips |
| 30s at 720p | 1,440 | not possible | 3 clips | 8 clips |
The Starter caveat, stated plainly
A full thirty second clip at 720p costs 1,440 credits. The Starter plan includes 1,400 credits a month. The clip costs more than the entire monthly allowance, so thirty second 720p work starts at Pro. There is no way around that arithmetic and you should know it before you subscribe rather than after.
What Starter does handle comfortably is thirty seconds at 480p, at 690 credits, which leaves room for a second one. It also handles a reasonable amount of short form testing: seven eight second clips at 480p, or four fifteen second clips. If your work is short social cuts and concept testing, Starter is a real plan. If your deliverable is a thirty second spot at 720p, Pro is the entry point, and it gives you three of them a month or seven fifteen second spots.
For how the older model prices out on the same plans, see our Seedance 2.0 pricing breakdown. Seedance 2.0 Fast runs at 11 credits per second at 480p and 25 at 720p, so it remains the cheaper option when you do not need the longer single pass durations or the reference workflow. Current plan details are on the pricing page.
Is Seedance 2.5 free?
No. There is no free tier for video generation on VIDEO AI ME. An active subscription is required, and every second you generate draws down your monthly credit allowance. We would rather say that plainly than let you find out at the render button.
The more useful question is what a usable asset costs, and that is where the comparison stops being against other software and starts being against how the asset would otherwise get made.
A fifteen second spot at 720p costs 720 credits, roughly $7.20 of plan credit, with sound effects, ambient sound and lip synced dialogue already in the file. To produce the same fifteen seconds conventionally you are booking some combination of a shoot day, a location, talent, a camera operator, an editor and a voice session. Whatever those line items cost in your market, the comparison is not close, and the gap widens every time the client asks for a variant, because a variant here is another 720 credits rather than another shoot.
The honest version of the tradeoff is this. Generated video costs you attempts rather than days. You will not get the ad on the first render. Budget for three or four passes at 480p while you get the writing right, then one render at 720p. On Pro, that whole cycle for a fifteen second spot is roughly 1,035 credits of testing plus 720 credits of final render, which still leaves most of the month. Compare that against a shoot day and the decision is usually obvious. Compare a single 720p render against a single cheap stock clip and it is not. Pick the right comparison.
If you are selling this work on to clients, the same math is your margin. Our guide to Seedance 2.5 for thirty second videos covers how to structure a longer clip so you are not paying for thirty seconds of something that falls apart at second twelve, and how to use Seedance 2.5 walks through the settings from the first render onward. For a broader assessment of whether the output is worth the rate at all, read our Seedance 2.5 review.
Four ways to spend less without shipping worse work
Test at 480p, always. The rate difference is more than two to one. Framing, pacing, dialogue and camera movement are all legible at 480p. You are not judging grain at that stage.
Get the shot written before you render. Seedance 2.5 reasons about the whole clip at once, so a shot written as one continuous description with a beginning, a middle and an end lands closer on the first attempt than a list of keywords. Writing is free. Rendering is not.
Do not buy runtime you will not use. A twelve second clip is 576 credits at 720p against 960 for twenty seconds. If the concept resolves in twelve, render twelve.
Bind your references. In reference to video, name each image in the prompt, for example "keep the creator from @Image1, the bottle and label from @Image2". Vague references get blended, and a blended result is a wasted render at full price.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Seedance 2.5 cost per second?
Seedance 2.5 costs 23 credits per second at 480p and 48 credits per second at 720p in VIDEO AI ME, where one credit equals one cent of generation cost. Audio is always generated and always included at that rate, and reference to video with up to four images costs the same per second as text to video.
What does a 30 second Seedance 2.5 video cost?
Thirty seconds at 480p costs 690 credits, roughly $6.90 of plan credit. Thirty seconds at 720p costs 1,440 credits, roughly $14.40. Both are generated in a single pass rather than stitched from shorter clips, so you are paying for one continuous render rather than for several segments that then have to be joined.
Is Seedance 2.5 free?
No. There is no free tier for video generation, and an active subscription is required to render anything. Plans start at $29 a month for Starter with 1,400 credits. The useful comparison is not against free tools but against what the same fifteen or thirty seconds of footage would cost to shoot, which includes crew, talent, location and a voice session.
Which plan do I need for 30 second videos at 720p?
Pro or above. A thirty second 720p clip costs 1,440 credits, which is more than the entire 1,400 credit Starter allowance, so that specific deliverable is not possible on Starter. Pro includes 5,600 credits, which covers three of them a month. Starter handles thirty second clips at 480p comfortably at 690 credits each.
How many videos can I make on the Pro plan?
Pro includes 5,600 credits a month, which is about 116 seconds of Seedance 2.5 at 720p or about 243 seconds at 480p. In finished clips that is roughly 14 eight second clips at 720p, 7 fifteen second spots at 720p, or 30 eight second clips at 480p. Credits are shared across every model in the editor, so mixing models stretches them further.
Does audio or reference to video cost extra?
No. Audio is always generated and included in the per second price, covering sound effects, ambient sound and lip synced speech, with no toggle and no surcharge. Reference to video with two to four images and image to video with an optional end frame both cost the same per second as plain text to video. Only duration and resolution change the price.
